High school dean charged with solicitation

Terrence Murphy, 48, of Bellwood, Ill., was arrested Thursday after getting caught in a sex sting for a third time.

PROVISO TOWNSHIP, Ill. — A high school dean in Blue Island, Ill., has been charged with solicitation of a sex act, according to the Cook County Sheriff’s Office.

Terrence Murphy, 48, of Bellwood, Ill., was arrested Thursday after getting caught in a sex sting for a third time. He  had twice previously been cited by police in separate sting operations after responding to ads at the website Backpage.com, according to a news release by sheriff’s police.

Murphy is the dean of students at Eisenhower High School.

In prior cases Murphy was caught after arriving at hotels in response to Backpage.com ads, first on Feb. 5 in Central Stickney Township and then on March 24 in Palos Township.

In the latest sting, he went to a hotel at Proviso Township on July 14. According to the release, when Murphy recognized the woman there as an officer, he tried to leave, but was arrested.
