Postal worker hospitalized after swarmed by hornets on route

WHEATON, Ill. -- A postal worker was taken to the hospital after she was stung repeatedly by hornets while on her route.

A spokesperson for the United States Postal Service says the carrier was on her route in Wheaton when she sustain 30-50 stings to the head and neck.

The carrier rang the doorbell of a nearby home for help.

A pest control expert says a landscaping crew had dislodged a hornets' nest in the area.

The carrier, who was reportedly just filling in on the route, was breathing and talking when paramedics took her to the hospital.
