AUSTRALIA — A picture posted to Instagram captured the frightening moment that an eagle attacked a small boy at a bird show in Australia.
The boy was watching the show at Alice Springs Desert Park.
According to Christine O’ Connell, the boy was pulling the zipper on his green hoodie up and down.
The wedge-tailed eagle, that was part of the show, must have not liked that because instead of flying over and landing on a log, it swooped down and attacked him. It appeared to try and pick the boy up like a small animal.
O’Connell says the show was quickly canceled. The boy was bleeding but didn’t suffer any serious injuries.

Not the sharpest photo but lucky just to snap it. At a nature park in Alice Springs we decided to go to a bird show the young boy in the green kept pulling his zipper up and down. For some reason the Wedge Tailed Eagle did not like it and instead of flying over to the log he is meant to for a photo opportunity he flew straight at the young boy. The show was quickly cancelled and the boy taken off to first aid. Those talons are huge he was a very lucky young boy.
