CHICAGO - The deadline is quickly approaching for the Bears to lock down their top receiver for the long term.
July 15th is the deadline for team to come to terms with Alshon Jeffery on a multi-year contract since he was given the Franchise Tag this past March. If not, Jeffery gets a one-year deal worth over $14.6 million next season and then he's a free agent following the season.
Can something happen in the next couple of days to lock up the receiver long term? If it doesn't happen, how will that affect Alshon's performance this season?
We discussed that along with other Bears topics with Arthur Arkush of Pro Football Weekly on Tuesday evening on Sports Feed. Don't forget training camp is just a little over two weeks away and there is plenty to discuss.
