Girl, 18, killed by stray bullet that came through window in Calumet City

CALUMET CITY, Ill. -- Jessica Rogers, 18, was killed by a stray bullet while inside a relative's home in South Suburban Calumet City.

Her cousin thought it was a firecracker and then found Jessica on the kitchen floor bleeding from a neck wound Saturday night.

The teen was pronounced dead Sunday night at Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn.

She was getting ready for her senior year at Hillcrest High School in Country Club Hills.

Police have no one in custody.
