Vigil held for victims of triple homicide in Hazel Crest

HAZEL CREST, Ill. -- A vigil was held today for the victims of a triple homicide in suburban Hazel Crest.

Friends and family are remembering the father and two young daughters who were shot and killed inside their home.

39-year-old Dionus Neeley and his daughters 10-year-old Elle Neeley, and 3-year-old India Neeley.were killed last weekend.

Erin Ross , the mother and wife of the victims spoke at this vigil tonight and revealed she was actually home and in the same room with her husband and girls when this shooting happened.

“I woke up to loud gunshots and ran to get my children,” she said. “I tried to pull them off the couch and they were limp . I turned to my husband and he was limp.”

Erin called 911. Her husband and kids were taken to the hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

Hazel Crest police believe this was a targeted attack.

Erin says she did not see who opened fire.

The killer has not been arrested and police are asking for the community to come forward with information.
