7 injured in crash on inbound Dan Ryan

CHICAGO — A crash occurred around 2:25 p.m. on the inbound Dan Ryan and 85th.

Seven people — three children and four adults — were transported to area hospitals with serious but non life-threatening injuries. The right lane of inbound Dan Ryan was briefly closed at 85th and onramp at 87th and I-94 North was closed. All lanes were later reopened.

The children  were taken to Comer Children’s Hospital, while two adults were taken to Stroger Hospital and two other adults were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center.

The Illinois Department of Transportation was on the scene trying to reconstruct crash.  The SUV involved appeared to to be very mangled.

IDOT says alcohol was a factor in the crash.

The vehicle had Indiana plates but some of the occupants had local Chicago addresses.
