CHICAGO –  A Cook County Judge denied bond for the man charged with killing a woman on a CTA Red Line train on the South Side  last week.

Arthur S. Jones, 29,  is accused of fatally stabbing Jessica Hampton, 25, Thursday.

Jones was arrested at the scene, after witnesses say the two had a discussion on the southbound train and Jones then stabbed Hampton several times and slit her throat.   Hampton died at the scene.

The attack was caught on several surveillance cameras on the train.

Investigators say the two knew each other and it was not a random attack.

In addition to the murder case, Jones was also charged with aggravated battery to a peace officer and attempting to disarm a peace officer, for an incident at a hospital on Friday.
