CHICAGO - The term is used mostly for Cubs teams of the past who went from near the top or middle of the back to the bottom.
Many didn't expect to bring it out for Joe Maddon's front-running Cubs of 2016. But this week the term "June Swoon" was a bit appropriate.
The Cubs were not only swept by division rival St. Louis at home but then lost 3-of-4 games to the Marlins in Miami. While it doesn't really hurt their lead in the NL Central (the lead is still 9 games over the Cardinals) it causes concern for Cubs fans who have had little to be sad about this season.
Jared Wyllys of BP Wrigleyville came on the show to talk about how the team can improve to solidify themselves as the middle of the summer approaches.
