Girl drowns in suburban pool

DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. --   A young girl drowned in a pool over the weekend in the western suburbs.

Police say the 4-year-old Anna Trent was found unconscious in the upper pool at Downers Grove Swim and Racket Club Sunday night.

People at the club performed CPR before rushing the girl to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The incident is under investigation and the pool will remain closed until further notice.

The club posted a message on its website saying:

"We are deeply saddened by the loss of a young life... The incident is currently under investigation and the pool will remained closed until further notice. Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with all of the families that are involved."
