Cubs players thank David Ross, their dad in the dugout

This Father’s Day, Anthony Rizzo wanted to make sure David Ross knew how much he is appreciated. What better way to do so than a heartfelt card?

As a father of three, Ross has become a sort of surrogate father for a large portion Cubs’ clubhouse. Considering Ross is nearly 15 years older than most of the Cubs starting infield, it actually isn’t much of a stretch.

After a stellar performance last night in which he hit the game-winning home run and laid down a great bunt to plate Javier Baez, Ross earned a nice Father’s Day morning boat ride with Jake Arrieta, John “Big Country” Lackey, and former Boston first baseman Kevin Millar.

It’s great to see that the Grandpa Rossy retirement party is still in full swing.

Have a happy Father’s Day, and don’t forget to watch the Cubs take on the Pirates tonight at 7:08 p.m.
