Bicyclist killed after struck, pinned under double-decker bus

CHICAGO --  A bicyclist was killed in downtown Chicago this afternoon after he was struck by a double-decker bus.

Authorities say the 29-year-old man disobeyed a red light at the north end of Michigan Avenue when the tour bus struck him around 5:30 p.m.

The bus was heading west on Oak St.

A spokesperson for the fire dept, say the man became stuck under the bus., and firefighters had to work to free him.

He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Authorities have not yet released his name.
