5-year-old girl wounded in South Side shooting

CHICAGO – A girl was wounded in a shooting in city's Chicago Lawn neighborhood Friday night.

Police say 5-year-old Elysia Watson was at a graduation party in the 6800 block of S. Artesian.  Witnesses say a man approached the party and open fired around 8 p.m.

The girl was struck in the foot.  Her father says it is a graze wound and she is expected to be okay.

A 34-year-old women was also hit in the ankle close to where Watson was hit. Police say was taken to the hospital.

It is unclear if the shootings are related.
