The 13-year-old from north suburban Skokie who surprised "America's Got Talent" judges with a powerful opera performance that left audience members in tears, Laura Bretan talked with WGN Morning News on Wednesday.

Her memorable audition earned her the show's "Golden Buzzer," which was hit by judge Melanie Brown.

“It was an emotional time for me, I have been waiting for this for so long.” Bretan said. “I have tried so many times.”

The teen's "America’s Got Talent" appearance hasn't been her only brush with fame. Within the last week, Bretan, who is of Romanian descent, also won "Romania’s Got Talent."

Bretan explained that she only began singing opera two years ago because she found it interesting. Now, her singing has America eagerly waiting for her next appearance in the upcoming taped "America's Got Talent" shows.

“It is very shocking for me still.” Bretan said. “I still have no idea what just happened to me. I'm still dreaming.”
