CHICAGO -- After less than a year as principal at Lane Tech College Prep High School, Kathryn Anderson has resigned.

Anderson announced her resignation in an email Monday night to staff and parents.

She is leaving at the end of June to become the new principal at Deerfield High School in District 113.

Anderson arrived at Lane Tech 10-years ago as a teacher.

Her resignation comes on the heels of a similar announcement at Foreman High School. Principal Dan Zimmerman is also leaving for a job outside of Chicago Public Schools. He says the budget crisis and financial limbo make it especially hard to focus on classroom instruction.

The Chicago Principals Association fully expects there to be more resignations.
