3-year-old hurt in chaos following North Chicago shooting

NORTH CHICAGO -- According to North Chicago Police officers responded to a 9-1-1 call of shots fired on a residential street at 11:39 a.m. .

Once on the scene they discovered a 3-year-old girl's leg was hurt in the chaos that followed the shooting. She was taken to the hospital and has since been released.

Officers also found a gun under a nearby car and a 19-year-old man who was injured by a weapon, according to a press release. He is still hospitalized.

At least two people involved in this incident are being detained. A man who identified himself as an uncle of the girl says the shooting is part of a long-standing feud but wouldn't elaborate.
