6 injured in apartment fire in West Rogers Park

CHICAGO -- A fire in the city’s West Rogers Park neighborhood sent six people to the hospital overnight.

It happened just after midnight Monday at an apartment building near California and Peterson.

The fire started on the second floor.

Firefighters arrived to find two people hanging out a window.

Two residents of the building were taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Four others were also hospitalized; including a police officer also suffered an asthma attack.

The fire is under investigation.
