CHICAGO — The “grenade-like” object found Friday morning on Chicago’s South Side was a dud, according to CPD news affairs.

The Chicago Police Bomb and Arson unit responded to a building being rehabbed in the 2100 block of East 71st Street in the city’s South Shore neighborhood.

Police are at the scene, and police news affairs confirmed that the object was a dud.
