CHICAGO -- A new report from City Hall confirms, the check-in lines at Chicago's airports have shortened dramatically in the past week.

A review of TSA performance finds, the average waiting time at security checkpoints at O'Hare is down to eight minutes, and nine minutes at Midway Airport.

More importantly, peak waiting times at O'Hare Airport have dropped from 104 minutes to just 42 minutes, and at Midway, the longest wait is 44 minutes.

Part of the reason: since last week, there are 31 more TSA screeners and eight more bomb-sniffing dogs at the airports.
