CHICAGO -- Police and school officials are telling people to be on alert after a string of robberies near the DePaul campus.

The latest, according to DePaul security and Chicago Police, happened overnight when a 21-year-old male was robbed at gunpoint near Belden and Sheffield.

Police say the victim was approached by three offenders; two males and one female.

University security responded and detained the female robber but not before the males took off.

A DePaul spokeswoman says the university is very vigilant about letting the community know when there’s an incident and it has around the clock public safety patrols.

Chicago Police are working with DePaul to find the robbers.
