MIDLOTHIAN, Ill. — A man with a shotgun who barricaded himself in his garage in Midlothian is now in police custody.

Officers were able to get him out without incident, a Cook County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman said. A taser was deployed at the scene, but the man was not injured and neither were any officers.

Earlier Monday, the county eviction team went to the home, located at 14944 Ridgeway, to evict the tenet. When they entered the home, the 52-year-old man raised a shotgun to officers.

While he did not shoot, the man ran off and barricaded himself inside the garage with the gun.

No charges have been filed at this time.
