CHICAGO — Students from four Chicago Public Schools boarded a bus for Washington this morning outside the Johnson School of Excellence in North Lawndale.

When the kids get to DC, they’ll perform for First Lady Michelle Obama in what’s called the White House Turnaround Arts Talent Show.

The kids are part of the Academy for Urban School Leadership, which accepts students from Chicago’s poorest performing public schools.
