CHICAGO -- A sexual assault on the city’s Southwest Side has prompted a community alert.

At about 8:30 p.m. Sunday, a 37-year-old woman was walking to a store in the 4300 block of South Sacramento Ave. in the city's Brighton Park neighborhood.

She was approached by a man in a dark colored vehicle.  He exited his vehicle and held a cloth to her face, likely soaked with chloroform, and then sexually assaulted her.

The suspect is described as Hispanic and around 40-years-old. He was wearing a black hat with red lettering and had a diamond stud in each ear.

The car may have been a black Pontiac.
