The 2016 NBA Draft Lottery.

NEW YORK – There was hope for a little magic after a season void of it on the west side.

But very early in the 2016 NBA Draft Lottery, Bulls fans found themselves disappointed again.

There was not luck for the team this time with the ping pong balls as they ended up with the 14th pick in June’s NBA Draft. That was the expected spot for the Bulls since they had the best record among the teams not to make the playoffs and had a very small chance to get the top pick.

In fact the Draft Lottery ended up exactly as the records lined up at the end of the season. The Philadelphia 76ers, the worst team in the league in 2015-2016, ended up with the No. 1 pick.

It will be just the second time in franchise history that the Bulls have owned the 14th pick. That was in 1974 when the Bulls took guard Maurice Lucas from Marquette but he ended up choosing to play in the ABA, never once suiting up for the team.
