SKOKIE, Ill. -- The Illinois Holocaust Museum debuts its race for humanity on Sunday.

This is the first 5K run but not the last; it will become an annual fundraising event. Runners lined up at the starting line in front of the museum, with museum president and holocaust survivor Fritzie Fritzshall doing the honors of getting the race started.

After the race participants had the chance to experience the museum's offerings. There was also a children's race; it was a kiddie 1K.
