Teacher accused of inappropriately texting student

HAMMOND, Ind. -- A teacher a Hammond, Ind. is under investigation and suspected of inappropriate communication with a student.

According to the Gary diocese, the teacher is accused of inappropriate texting and messaging with a student.

The diocese won't say when it happened but tells WGN News that the teacher at Bishop Noll Catholic High School was removed from the school as soon as officials learned about the inappropriate messaging.

Child protective services were notified.

The teacher has not been identified or charged. Authorities say they need more information before determining charges.

Hammond detectives have not yet contacted the teacher or the student involved but still will happen at some point.

Hammond Police declined WGN News’s request for an interview.
