At least 2 dead, 13 injured in overnight gun violence

CHICAGO - Two men were shot to death and at least 13 others have been wounded in shootings across the city since Saturday afternoon.

A man died after he was shot in the head while eating dinner at his kitchen table.

Andres Rivera, 58,  was shot at 8:08 p.m inside his home on the 5200 block of South Kolin Avenue in the Archer Heights neighborhood.

Police say he was was sitting at his kitchen table when a bullet flew through the front door and struck him in the head.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police believe the shooting was gang-related but Rivera was not the intended target.

No arrests have been made.

Also overnight, a 26-year-old man was found shot to death outside a funeral home in the South Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

At about 10:50p.m. officers found the man with a gunshot wound to his right shoulder in the 400 block of South Cicero Avenue.

He was taken to Loretto Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

There were several other shootings overnight.   Police say at least a dozen people were injured in those as well.
