NEW LENOX, Ill — A lockdown at Lincoln-Way Central High School in New Lenox has been lifted after nothing was found.

The precautionary lockdown was placed after a parent was dropping off their child at the high school, located at 1801 E Lincoln Hwy, and saw a “black object” in another student’s hand.

The parent was not sure what the unidentified object was.

Will County Sheriff school resources officers placed the school on lockdown as they investigated.
