CHICAGO -- A woman was wounded in a shooting during a home invasion on Chicago’s South Side Thursday. Police are looking for suspects.
The 26-year-old woman was at home in the 5900 block of South Kenneth in the city’s West Lawn neighborhood around 4 p.m..
Police say there are reports that one of the suspects may have been wearing a postal uniform but they cannot confirm that detail.
Neighbors say three men forced their way into the woman’s basement apartment. The woman was shot in the chest when she opened the door.
She was taken to the hospital and is in serious condition.
The investigation continues.
