APPLETON, Wisc. -- A couple is receiving an award this week for being foster parents to more than 300 children over the past 20 years.

Joyce and Art Snell became licensed foster parents after reading a newspaper article about a child that had been beaten to death.

Some children stay for years while others arrive in the middle of the night after an emergency call.

Joyce and Art say the award is nice, but knowing they're helping children in need is their reward.

The couple also also has five adult children.
