CHICAGO -- Members of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago's Washington Heights neighborhood gathered to pray Wednesday night for a young church member who was killed in a shooting.

Jeremy Parker, 21, was fatally shot in the chest while standing in the 7400 block of S. Maplewood around 9 o'clock, Tuesday night. Police say someone in a vehicle opened fire and the car sped away.

"Why does it keep happening? When will this end," asked Tasyana Reed, who grew up in the church with Parker.

Area central police detectives are investigating. No one is in custody, police said.
