College education dream fulfilled, now she’s sharing her story

The decision to go to college later in life is a tough one to make.

But one woman proves it can be done despite the odds.

Tina Watson survived a deadly disease  and used her new lease on life to fulfill her dream of a college education.

It is an education  made possible by the United Negro College Fund.

Every year, the organization provides financial assistance to tens of thousands of minority students across the country.

Watson is one of them.

She’s one of Chicago’s Very Own.
