Police seek suspect after boy grabbed while riding bike and sexually abused

CHICAGO -- Police are warning residents of Chicago's Jefferson Park neighborhood after a man sexually abused a boy last weekend.

The incident in question happened on Saturday, April 23rd in the 4800 block of West Cornelia around 8 p.m.

Police say an unknown male approached an 11-year-old boy riding his bike with some friends, grabbed him and, in the words of the police community alert “inappropriately touched him.” The man said, “I thought you were my girlfriend.”

Some residents nearby intervened and he took off running.

The offender is described as a white male 25 to 30 years old, 5’9, 200 lbs with blue or hazel eyes and bald.

He was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt yellow safety vest jeans and black shoes.
