1 killed, 3 injured in shooting in Chicago’s Gage Park neighborhood

CHICAGO — One man is dead and three others injured in a shooting in Chicago’s Gage Park neighborhood.

The four men were sitting in a car in the 2700 block of West 53rd Street at about 11 p.m. Tuesday.

A red minivan pulled up and someone inside fired several shots.

An 18-year-old man was shot in the chest and killed on the scene. According to the Cook County medical examiner’s office, he has been identified as Jason Nepoles.

Another 18-year-old man was shot in the back and went to Mount Sinai Hospital.

A 19-year-old man was shot in the arms and an 18-year-old man was shot in the back. Both men went to Stroger Hospital.

The three surviving men are in stable condition.

Police say all four victims are documented gang members.

No one is in custody.
