CLARKSVILLE, TENN. — A university is investigating six rainbow colored nooses found on campus.

Officials at Austin Peay State University say the nooses were immediately taken down yesterday by police over concerns of “hate symbolism.”

According to a statement posted on social media last night the nooses were found near a building where art classes are held.

Some students believe it was part of an art project but that has not been confirmed by school officials.
