CHICAGO – Javier Baez is back.

The Cubs activated the 23-year-old utility infielder off of the 15-day disabled list today as they get set to host a three-game series against the Colorado Rockies.

Baez has been rehabbing with the Iowa Cubs for the past four games as he continues to recover from a left thumb contusion, but he’ll be available on the big league roster going forward.

During his time in Triple-A, Baez batted .267 with one home run and one RBI.

Munenori Kawasaki is being sent down to make room for Baez.

Kawasaki went 1 for 2 with a stolen base in his two games with the Cubs.
