Andrew Ladd arrives in time for the Blackhawks’ playoff opener in St. Louis

ST. LOUIS – Family came first for him on Wednesday, but he was still about to make it in time to do his job.

Back in Chicago as his wife Brandy delivered the couple’s third child for most of the day, Blackhawks forward Andrew Ladd hopped on a plane and made it to the Scottrade Center in time for the team’s first round opener against the Blues.

Initially a game-time decision, Ladd was put on the Blackhawks’ top line with Jonathan Toews and Marian Hossa as the team starts their quest for a repeat Stanley Cup Championship.
