AURORA, Ill. – After many, many days and many, many miles an Aurora family was reunited with their dog earlier this week.

7-year-old Miley went missing three years ago after Janie Rosas’s boyfriend let her outside, then fell asleep.  When he woke up the backyard was empty.

Janie's mom Elida Rosas who actually owns the dogs thinks she knows what happened.

“Somebody kidnapped her,” she says. “They stole my baby.”

For weeks they searched the neighborhood.  They put up flyers and posted Miley’s photo on a website for lost dogs.  They also check the pound over and over again.  They even checked again last month looking for her.

“We never stopped.  They even called to see if they wanted to take her off the missing dog site and we said no,” Janie says.

There was nothing for years.  Until Sunday.

That’s when they got a call from a shelter in Nebraska.  They called Jaine with the good news.

The family made the 14 hour round trip drive on Monday to pick her up.

No one is sure how Miley got to the shelter but after three years the family only cares that she’s home.
