CHICAGO -- Chicago Public School teachers are preparing to walk off the job Friday, April 1.

The move is getting sharp criticism from Governor Bruce Rauner.

He slammed CTU, calling its planned one-day walkout an abuse of power.

The teachers union strike is still a 'go' for Friday.

Members picked up picket signs today on Chicago's near West Side.

They're protesting alleged unfair labor practices, including the removal of some raises from their contract.
