CHICAGO - Since 2006 it's a streak that schools in the city take pride in.
Over the last 11 boys' basketball season at least one Chicago Public League team has come home with a state championship. But before 2016 that had not included Curie nor had the Condors ever been able to enjoy a title in Boys' Basketball.
This March that changed for one of the state's emerging programs.
Curie won 28 games this year and everyone they played in the IHSA State Tournament, including a come-from-behind victory over Benet Academy in the Class 4A title game at Carver Arena in Peoria. The 65-59 triumph made the Condors' state champions for the first time, a feat celebrated by those around the state and in the Curie High School community.
On Thursday Sports Feed honored the champions by having them appear as guest with Jarrett Payton. To watch the segment, click on the video above.
