Floral Collage

Materials:
wood panel
mod podge
scissors
black and white images
pressed flowers
packing tape
2 cups of water
paint
paint brushes
patterned paper

Instructions:
Paint your background color on the wood panels. Select your focal point image - it can be anything you love.  A figure from a vintage postcard, magazine clipping, a brochure, family photos – be creative. Glue the focal point onto the wood panel with mod podge. (Mod Podge is a well-known craft supply. It’s an all-in-one glue, sealer and finish used to attached paper and fabric to various surfaces.) Incorporate “live” elements by using pressed real flowers.  Pluck a few flowers from your garden, houseplant or pick some inexpensive ones up at the grocery story. Use packing tape “magic trick” to make your own floral “stickers.” Cut flowers out and arrange as desired.  Cut out interesting images, shapes, and colors from wrapping paper, old greeting cards, postcards, programs or other paper mementos that you don’t want to throw away – spring cleaning time. Arrange as desired.  Try the arrangement with a LOT of images and then try another version with more “negative” space that just shows the background color.   Once you decide which you like best, use mod podge to glue in place.  Allow to dry fully and hang on your wall
