CHICAGO – An orphan sea otter pup has a home – and a name!

The Shedd Aquarium announced today that “Pup 719,” as she was formerly known, has been named Ellie after over 1500 votes in the naming contest.

Ellie was found on a beach in Carmel, California.  She now weighs 15 pounds and is growing quickly, according to the Shedd.

Ellie was also introduced to her new exhibit today at the Shedd.
