Bears give WR Marc Mariani a 1-year deal
LAKE FOREST – Fans may not have enjoyed his returning in the 2015 season, but his strong play as a spot receiver made Marc Mariani a versatile member of the team.
The Bears though enough of his efforts to give him a one-year contract for the 2016 season. The team announced the signing Saturday afternoon.
Filling in five times as a starter for the beat up receiving corps, Mariani caught a career-high 22 passes for 300 years in 2015. It was Mariani’s second season with the Bears after joining the team from Tennessee after three seasons with the Titans.
