WASHINGTON — The USDA is recalling more than 4,000 pounds of Perdue chicken nuggets after bits of plastic pieces have reportedly been found inside.

Eight-ounce boxes of Applegate Naturals chicken nuggets were shipped to distribution centers around the U.S., including Indiana.

The nuggets are marked with a “best before” date of September 2016.

The USDA recommends returning them for a refund.
