DIXMOOR, Ill. --It took more than 14-hours, but a barricade situation in south suburban Dixmoor ends peacefully.

The Cook County Sheriffs police hostage barricade team and other agencies arrived at a home near 142nd and Robey Avenue.

Police were called after a woman arrived at the home to pick-up her mother, but the mother's boyfriend would not let her leave.

A short while later, the 78-year-old man allowed the woman to leave, but he remained barricaded inside his house.

Police were told he had a number of weapons inside.

He eventually surrendered, and no one was injured.
