Ex-con charged in murder of Harvey teen

HARVEY, Ill. –  A man from South Suburban Lansing has been charged with the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old girl in Harvey last month.
Chase Holden, 30,  is accused of shooting into an apartment at 14626 South Halsted on February 17th.   Jaymere McMurty, 17, was shot in the back of the head and killed.   A 23-year-old woman was also shot and injured.
Police say Holden was seen running from the scene right after the shooting.  Officers did arrest him a short time later.
Holden is currently on parole and was released from prison in October after serving a ten year sentence for attempted murder.
He is now charged with first degree murder and aggravated battery with a firearm.
