CHICAGO — The heat goes on: Earth’s temperature soared to a record high last month.

Our planet was a whopping 1.5 degrees above average. Earth’s temperature was measured by weather satellites.

The number 1.5 degrees is a huge amount in climate science. Normally records are broken by hundredths or tenths of degrees.

Scientists again point to man-made global warming as well as the near-record El Nino climate pattern.
