CHICAGO -- The family of a man killed in a hit and run accident Sunday morning is pleading with the driver of the vehicle to come forward.

In the video surveillance released by Chicago police, the silver SUV, possibly a Jeep Cherokee, struck and killed 34-year-old Chris Sanchez early Sunday morning at Belmont and Milwaukee.

Tonight at his wake his cousin, on behalf of the family, issued a plea to the driver to turn him or herself in to authorities

The 34-year-old whose mother died less than a year ago from cancer was living with his father and struggling still with her death had gone out for a few beers and was walking home. The cruel irony says was that Chris was, and always wanted to be, a mechanic.
