Cubs ’embracing the target’ as spring training begins

MESA, Ariz. - After last year's dream season, the Cubs have a giant target on their back heading into 2016.

But in typical Joe Maddon fashion, the team's developed a motto for dealing with the increased attention: "embrace the target."

The message appears to have trickled down to the players with around 50 making it to camp ahead of schedule.

But Maddon's not a fan of all the early reporting, noting "I just don’t want anybody to tell me spring training is too long. They just made it longer."
