CHICAGO - Tradition is being built at Northwestern when it comes to football. A few decades ago, saying that might have seemed a bit crazy considering the lack of success in the Wildcats' program.
But after a pair of Big Ten titles and a host of bowl games over the past 20 years, Northwestern is a respected program in a much more competitive Big Ten conference.
Defensive lineman Dean Lowry and Superback Dan Vitale had a lot to do with another successful year for the Wildcats on the football field. Their contributions helped Northwestern to tie a school-record with ten wins and earn a berth in the Outback Bowl.
Now both players have the chance to add to the Wildcats in a different way-by making it to the NFL. Both Lowry and Vitale have been invited to the NFL combine and will take part in the workouts in Indianapolis next week.
The pair have been training at TC Boost Sports Performance Northbrook over the past few weeks as the prepare for their tryouts for the NFL. Before they left for Indianapolis, the pair came on Sports Feed to discuss their hopes for the combine and their Northwestern careers.
